Users quickly regain confidence in their ability to walk at any desired speed and traverse any terrain. By sensing knee position and loads applied to the limb at a rate of 1000 times each second, the knee is capable of analyzing the user's gait and delivering the proper amount of resistance during each step.

The Dynamic Learning Matrix AlgorithmT (DLMA) constantly learns from and responds to changes in the user's walking pattern and/or the surrounding environment. As the range of walking speed and activity increases, the Rheo Knee adapts appropriately, optimizing cadence response for individuals while they progress to higher levels of function.

The advanced capabilities of Microprocessor Controlled Stance mean transitions from level ground to ramp, stairs and uneven terrain are now possible without the fear of inadvertent knee collapse. Disturbances in the walking path are recognized automatically and stance support instantly activated to protect the individual from a potential stumble and fall, reducing fear and increasing confidence.
Natural and efficient motion
The Magnetorheologic (MR) Fluid Actuator uses magnetic fields to vary resistance. Response is exceptionally smooth and fast and unlike existing hydraulic systems, MR resistance is activated only when the individual needs it most, allowing more natural and effortless motion.
Simplicity of operation
Rheo Logic Software makes it simple to set up the knee, change settings and monitor performance. The Rheo Knee requires no initial programming and can be easily adjusted using the HP iPAQ.
